Sleepsuits FAQs
How Many Baby Sleepsuits Does a Newborn Need?
Not sure how many babygrows to buy? You're not alone it's one of the most common questions new parents ask! The honest answer: newborns live in sleepsuits for the first few weeks, so having enough to hand is essential.
We recommend stocking up with our baby sleepsuit multipacks the easiest and most cost-effective way to make sure you're never caught short between washes. Our organic cotton baby sleepsuits are soft against delicate newborn skin, warm enough for cooler nights, and designed to go on and off quickly because at 3am, every second counts.
Easy to pop on, easy to wash, and made to last through the early newborn whirlwind Cozy Crew Club sleepsuits are built for real family life.
Are Baby Sleepsuits Just for Sleeping?
Not at all! At Cozy Crew Club, we believe sleepsuits are the ultimate day-to-night outfit for babies and newborns. Practical, comfortable, and endlessly versatile there's a reason so many parents reach for them morning and night.
Our unisex baby sleepsuits are cut from soft, flexible fabrics that stretch and move with your little one through every wiggle, roll, and adventure. Whether they're lounging after a feed, doing tummy time, or working up to their first crawl, our sleepsuits keep up without restricting movement.
They're also brilliantly practical for the crawling stage — covering little arms and legs to protect against carpet scratches and bumps as your baby finds their feet. Comfortable enough for playtime, easy enough for bedtime — Cozy Crew Club sleepsuits are truly made for every moment of your baby's day.
At What Age Should Babies Stop Wearing Sleepsuits?
There's no hard rule and honestly, if your little one is comfy, there's no rush! Most parents naturally transition away from sleepsuits somewhere around the 2-year mark, which is why Cozy Crew Club sizes go all the way up to 24 months.
As babies grow into confident little movers, our older styles work with them. Our zip babygrows for 12–24 months are specially designed without scratch mitts or built-in feet, giving toddlers the freedom to toddle, cruise, and explore without slipping on smooth floors. All the comfort of a classic sleepsuit updated for the on-the-go stage.
So whether you have a brand new newborn or an almost-toddler on your hands, Cozy Crew Club has a sleepsuit designed to grow with them every step of the way.
What Makes a Cozy Crew Club Sleepsuit a Good Choice?
Every Cozy Crew Club sleepsuit is crafted from our signature organic cotton and bamboo blend soft, safe, and sustainably made from the very first wash to the very last wear.
What sets our fabric apart is how cleverly it works with your baby's body. Our breathable baby fabric is naturally thermoregulating and moisture-wicking, meaning it adapts to your little one's temperature rather than trapping heat keeping them comfortable whether they're sleeping, feeding, or on the move. No overheating, no clammy layers, just the perfect temperature all day and all night.
Our sleepsuits have been recognised with industry awards for quality and design because parents deserve baby clothes they can truly trust. And because comfort doesn't stop when the sun comes out, our summer baby sleepsuits feature short legs and arms, making them ideal for warmer nights, holiday slumbers, and those beautiful bright early mornings away from home.
Soft on skin. Smart in design. Trusted by parents. That's the Cozy Crew Club difference.
Are Cozy Crew Club sleepsuits safe for babies with eczema or sensitive skin?
Absolutely and this is something we feel really passionate about at Cozy Crew Club. Our sleepsuits are made from a premium blend of organic cotton and bamboo, two of the most naturally gentle fabrics available for delicate and reactive baby skin.
Bamboo is naturally hypoallergenic, antibacterial, and moisture-wicking meaning it draws sweat and moisture away from the skin rather than trapping it, which is one of the key triggers for eczema flare-ups at night. Our organic cotton is free from harsh pesticides, synthetic dyes, and chemical finishes that are commonly found in conventional baby clothing and are known irritants for sensitive skin.
Every Cozy Crew Club sleepsuit is made without scratchy tags, rough seams, or unnecessary fastenings because for babies with eczema or sensitive skin, even the smallest irritant can disrupt sleep and cause discomfort. Soft inside, soft outside, and kind to skin from the very first wear.
If your baby has particularly reactive skin, we always recommend washing new sleepsuits before the first use with a gentle, fragrance-free detergent to remove any residual fibres from packaging.
How Should I Wash My Cozy Crew Club Baby Sleepsuits?
Our sleepsuits are designed to be as easy for parents as they are comfortable for babies and that includes washing. Here's how to keep them in the best condition wash after wash:
Machine wash at 30°C or below using a gentle, fragrance-free baby detergent. Avoid fabric softeners, as these can coat the bamboo fibres and reduce their natural breathability and moisture-wicking properties over time. Tumble dry on a low heat or air dry flat for best results our organic cotton and bamboo blend actually gets softer with every wash, so you'll notice the difference the more you use them.
Turn sleepsuits inside out before washing to protect any prints or colours, and wash with similar colours to keep whites bright. Avoid washing at high temperatures or with biological detergents, as these can break down the natural fibres and irritate sensitive baby skin.
Cozy Crew Club sleepsuits are built to last through hundreds of washes durable enough to be passed down from sibling to sibling without losing their softness or shape.
What Size Baby Sleepsuit Do I Need?
Babies grow at an extraordinary pace in their first two years, so getting sizing right from the start saves both money and frustration. At Cozy Crew Club, our sleepsuits are sized by both age and weight to give you the most accurate fit possible.
As a general guide: if your baby is between sizes, we always recommend sizing up. A slightly roomier sleepsuit is far more comfortable than one that's too snug and gives you more time between sizes too. For newborns especially, it's worth having a small stock across two sizes (newborn and 0–3 months) as babies can move through the smallest sizes very quickly.
For the best fit, measure your baby from the top of their head to the heel of their foot when lying flat. Our size guide matches these measurements to the right sleepsuit size, so you're never guessing. And because our organic cotton and bamboo blend has a gentle stretch to it, our sleepsuits move with your baby rather than restricting them giving a comfortable, flexible fit that works across the full size range.
Not sure? Our customer care team are always happy to help you find the perfect fit before you buy.
What Is a TOG Rating and Do I Need to Think About It for Baby Sleepsuits?
TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade it's a measure of how warm a fabric is, and it's most commonly used for baby sleeping bags rather than sleepsuits themselves. But understanding TOG is still really useful when it comes to layering your baby for sleep, because your sleepsuit and sleeping bag work together to keep your baby at the right temperature.
As a simple guide: the ideal room temperature for a sleeping baby is between 16–20°C. In a room at that temperature, a lightweight Cozy Crew Club sleepsuit paired with a 1.0 TOG sleeping bag is a comfortable, safe combination for most babies. In warmer rooms above 22°C, a short-sleeve sleepsuit on its own or with a 0.5 TOG bag is usually plenty. In cooler rooms below 16°C, you can layer a vest underneath your sleepsuit and use a 2.5 TOG sleeping bag on top.
The golden rule: always check your baby's temperature by feeling the back of their neck or their chest not their hands or feet, which are naturally cooler. If their chest feels warm and comfortable, they're at the right temperature. If they feel hot or sweaty, remove a layer.
Our organic cotton and bamboo sleepsuits are naturally thermoregulating, which means they help your baby's body adapt to temperature changes rather than trapping heat making them a safe and smart choice at any TOG level.
Are Cozy Crew Club Sleepsuits GOTS or OEKO-TEX Certified?
Yes and we believe certifications matter, especially when it comes to what goes directly against your baby's skin.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification means the organic cotton used in our sleepsuits has been independently verified at every stage of production from the field where it's grown, to the factory where it's made, to the finished garment in your hands. No harmful pesticides, no toxic dyes, no chemical shortcuts. Just genuinely organic fabric you can trust completely.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 (Baby Class 1) is the highest level of textile safety testing available, specifically designed for products that come into contact with baby skin. It tests for over 100 harmful substances including formaldehyde, heavy metals, and known allergens and certifies that every component of the garment is safe, including threads, zips, and labels.
At Cozy Crew Club, we hold both certifications because we believe parents shouldn't have to take our word for it. Third-party, independent verification is the only standard that counts when it comes to your baby.
What Is the Difference Between a Sleepsuit and a Babygrow?
Great question and you're definitely not alone in wondering! The honest answer is that sleepsuits and babygrows are essentially the same thing, just called different names depending on who you're talking to.
Both terms describe a one-piece garment that covers your baby's body, arms, and legs typically with built-in feet and scratch mitts in the smaller sizes. The term babygrow tends to be the more traditional British name, while sleepsuit is the more modern, widely used term across the UK and beyond.
At Cozy Crew Club, we use both terms interchangeably because whether you call it a sleepsuit, babygrow, or babygro, what matters is that it's made from the softest organic cotton and bamboo, designed with a two-way zip for easy changes, and built to be comfortable enough for sleep and practical enough for everything else.
Can I Use a Cozy Crew Club Sleepsuit With a Sleeping Bag?
Yes and it's actually one of the most popular and recommended combinations for keeping babies comfortable and safe at night.
A Cozy Crew Club sleepsuit worn underneath a baby sleeping bag gives you a brilliantly flexible layering system. The sleepsuit provides a soft, breathable base layer directly against your baby's skin, while the sleeping bag adds adjustable warmth on top without the risks associated with loose blankets in a cot.
The key is choosing the right TOG sleeping bag for the room temperature and adjusting the layers underneath accordingly. In a warm room, a short-sleeve sleepsuit under a 0.5 TOG bag works beautifully. In a cooler room, a long-sleeve sleepsuit — or a vest plus sleepsuit combination under a 2.5 TOG bag keeps babies snug and settled through the night.
Because our organic cotton and bamboo fabric is naturally breathable and moisture-wicking, it works with the sleeping bag rather than against it so your baby stays at a safe, comfortable temperature without overheating. No clammy layers, no sweaty backs, just calm and cosy sleep.
Are Cozy Crew Club Sleepsuits Good for Summer and Winter?
One of the things parents love most about our organic cotton and bamboo blend is that it genuinely works across every season not just one.
In summer, the natural breathability of bamboo allows air to circulate freely against your baby's skin, helping to prevent overheating during warmer nights. Our summer sleepsuits with short sleeves and short legs are specifically designed for hotter months and holiday travel, keeping babies cool and comfortable without sacrificing the coverage that protects delicate skin.
In winter, the same thermoregulating fabric works in reverse trapping just enough warmth to keep babies cosy without the risk of overheating that comes with heavier synthetic fabrics. Layer a vest underneath for colder nights and pair with a higher TOG sleeping bag for a safe, warm sleep setup whatever the weather outside.
Year-round comfort from one trusted fabric that's the Cozy Crew Club promise.
Do Baby Sleepsuits With Zips or Poppers Work Better?
Both have their fans but ask any parent who's done a 3am nappy change with poppers on a wriggling baby, and most will tell you they wish they'd chosen a zip.
Poppers are the traditional closure for baby sleepsuits, but they require lining up multiple fasteners in the right order while half asleep, in the dark, with a baby who has very strong opinions about lying still. One misaligned popper and you're starting from scratch.
Zip sleepsuits and specifically two-way zips are a game changer for nighttime changes. At Cozy Crew Club, all our zip sleepsuits feature a two-way zip that opens from both the top and the bottom, meaning you can access just the nappy area without undressing your baby completely. Less disruption, less crying, faster changes, and everyone gets back to sleep sooner.
Our zips are also fully concealed with a soft inner flap to prevent the zip from ever touching your baby's skin because the details matter, especially at 3am.
